On Sunday, December 6, Romanian voters went to the polls to elect members of the country’s two-chamber Parliament: the Senate (upper house) and the Chamber of Deputies (lower house). While the opposition Social Democratic Party (PSD) received the largest share of the vote, the ruling National Liberal Party (PNL) looks set to stay in power and form a new government coalition, joined by two other centre-right parties.
