Olena Perepelynska Appointed As Co-Chair of Eastern Europe Group within International Bar Association’s Arbitration Committee

Olena Perepelynska has been appointed Co-Chair of the Eastern Europe Group, regional subdivision of the International Bar Association’s (IBA) Arbitration Committee. Being the only practitioner representing Ukraine in the Committee leadership, Olena assumes her new role for the years of 2025-2026 together with Roman Prekop, partner at Barger Prekop (Slovakia).

The Eastern Europe Arbitration Group was launched by the IBA Arbitration Committee in 2022. The goals of the EEAG are to promote arbitration and to accelerate evolution of arbitral proceedings in the region by introducing and delivering solutions on the issues of interest for both practitioners and businesses in the region, which the IBA has been at the forefront of through the committed work of the Arbitration Committee. The Group also aims to support professional development and the building connections among the region’s arbitration academics, professionals and practitioners.

Olena Perepelynska is the leading international arbitration expert in Ukraine with 20 years of experience, top-tier global recognition and a market-leading track record of professional achievements. Prior to this appointment, Olena has stepped down from the position of the President of the Ukrainian Arbitration Association, following two consecutive terms or 8 years of service.

Having consolidated quite extensive experience on the boards of both national and regional arbitration associations, I’m committed to leveraging it and bringing value to the IBA, the largest and most distinguished bar association in the world. Grateful to the Arbitration Committee co-chairs for their trust and support and proud to represent Ukraine in it.”


The IBA Arbitration Committee focuses on laws, practice and procedures relating to the arbitration of cross-border disputes. Through conferences, publications and projects, the Committee seeks to share information about international arbitration, promote its use and improve its effectiveness.
