Frontline communities are eligible to receive financial assistance ranging from UAH 500,000 to UAH 2 million through a Group Cash Transfer (GCT) competition. This initiative is conducted by the Ukrainian Red Cross (URC) as part of the project “Support to National Crisis Response, Humanitarian Operations, and Resilience Building,” funded by the U.S. Government.
The program was recently presented to local community representatives in the Kharkiv region and key partners.
How the Program Works
The initiative provides targeted funding for specific community projects based on clear selection criteria, transparent reporting, and expert guidance at every stage. The funding is dedicated to initiatives that address urgent humanitarian challenges and strengthen local resilience.
The project launches this May, targeting frontline communities in the Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, and Chernihiv regions.
Communities may submit multiple project proposals in the following focus areas:
- Strengthening critical infrastructure;
- Improving living conditions for internally displaced persons (IDPs);
- Winterization and emergency preparedness;
- Other community-driven development priorities.
The Ukrainian Red Cross expresses its sincere gratitude to the U.S. Department of State for its continued support and trust. Our extensive experience in large-scale crisis response, combined with the nation’s broadest network of branches, makes the URCS a vital partner for major humanitarian initiatives — for both institutional organizations and the private sector.
Together, we are building more than just one-off aid projects; we are establishing a sustainable and transparent system that will benefit Ukrainian communities for years to come. By joining forces, we transform immediate support into long-term development.
