AmCham Ukraine leadership, jointly with the AmCham Legal Committee Co-Chairs – Vitalii Odzhykovskyi, Kateryna Gupalo, and representatives of member companies, met with Denys Malyuska, Minister of Justice of Ukraine, Iryna Mudra, Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine, and Margarita Sokorenko, Commissioner of the European Court of Human Rights.
In focus – issues related to the compensation for the damages caused by the Russian Federation's full-scale military invasion of Ukraine:
- peculiarities of Ukrainian compensatory mechanism: International Register of Damages & a special Commission that will be reviewing applications for reimbursement for such damages, and the Compensation Fund;
- functioning of the International Registry of Damages and the timeline for the establish of other components of the compensation mechanism;
- distribution, priority, and mechanism of realization of recovered assets;
- problematic aspects regarding compensation recovery mechanisms;
- rules, criteria, and deadlines for applying for compensation for the damages caused by the Russian Federation's full-scale military invasion.
