Children of Heroes Charity Fund Launches the “Christmas Miracle” Initiative for 15,550 Ukrainian Children

Children of Heroes Charity Fund Launches the “Christmas Miracle” Initiative for 15,550 Ukrainian Children

The Children of Heroes Charity Fund has launched its annual Christmas campaign to support children who have lost one or both parents due to the war. This year, the initiative will reach 15,550 children. The goal of the project is to ensure that every child receives a personalized Christmas gift.

Anyone wishing to contribute can join the campaign via the link.

As of today, the Children of Heroes Charity Fund provides long-term support to more than 15,000 children, and according to current projections, this number may rise to approximately 15,500 by the end of the year. The Fund supports children through educational programs, psychological assistance, and — when needed — emergency aid and humanitarian support. Over the past three years, the organization has delivered nearly 200 tonnes of humanitarian aid and provided close to 13,000 hours of psychological counseling.

Three Ways Partners Can Get Involved

As part of the “Christmas Miracle” project, the Fund offers partners three convenient ways to participate.

  1. Personalized Gifts Based on Children’s Letters

This format ensures that each child’s individual wish is fulfilled. All gifts based on letters are always purchased and sent by the partner — funded either by the company or its employees.

The Fund provides partners with a list of children, their letters, and quality guidelines. Company employees independently select, purchase, and package the gifts according to each child’s wishes.

Gifts can be sent directly to the children or delivered to the Fund’s warehouse for further distribution. The minimum participation level is 30 personalized gifts. The Fund supports partners at every stage and provides full transparency and reporting.

The In Kind option also applies to this format: the company or its employees prepare and send the gifts themselves, following the children’s letters and receiving complete support from the Fund’s team.

  1. Targeted Gift Certificates

This format is designed for children who do not write letters or who are currently living abroad (425 children in the Fund’s care). A certificate is an individual, child-specific gift provided within a budget of 1,000 UAH per child.

Participation is flexible:

  • Partners can raise funds among employees or make a corporate contribution.
  • A partner may independently purchase the certificates and deliver them to the Fund’s warehouse.
  • Alternatively, partners can transfer the funds to the Fund, which will handle the purchase and delivery of the certificates to the children.

The Fund fully manages logistics, documentation, and reporting.

  1. Universal Physical Gifts

The Fund assembles and purchases standardized gift sets for children of different age groups. The cost of each set includes procurement, packaging, and delivery.

Two participation options are available:

  • A partner can make a financial contribution, and the Fund will assemble and deliver the gift sets.
  • Alternatively, the company or its employees can independently purchase the required number of sets and send them to the Fund’s warehouse.

Partners receive photo reports and delivery confirmations.

Why This Matters

According to the Fund’s data, 80% of children who have lost their parents due to the war stop dreaming and lose their sense of childhood. For them, a Christmas gift becomes a symbol of support, stability, and a reminder that dreams can still come true — even in times of war. And those dreams are very different: some children long for a small symbolic gift that brings back a feeling of warmth, while for others, a true miracle is a chance to move toward their future.

One of the first letters we received this year came from a teenager who dreamed of entering university. After losing his father and facing major disruptions in his education caused by the war, he asked for help with a preparatory course for the national entrance exam.

Stories like this remind us that every child’s dream matters — and that our support can become the step that restores their belief in themselves and in their future.

The Fund invites businesses, organizations, and individuals to join the initiative and help bring the holiday spirit to children for whom this gesture of support means so much.

Let this Christmas be a reminder that your support can create real miracles.
