Business community expresses gratitude to Ukraine’s Government for actions taken supporting the export of agricultural products

AmCham Ukraine is grateful to the Government of Ukraine for all the efforts and support aimed at ensuring the continuous and uninterrupted export of Ukrainian grain and other agricultural products to the world markets.

The business community appreciates regular dialogue and updates on topical export-related issues, as well as numerous negotiations rounds held by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, Ministry of Economy, Ministry for Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine with the European Commission and national ministers of neighboring European Union (EU) member-states on:

  • import and transit issues of Ukrainian agricultural products to the EU in the framework of the European Solidarity Lanes platform;
  • simplified customs control procedures for cargo with agricultural products moving through the Western borders-crossings.
  • further expansion of the “E-Queue” project for road transport.

Also, the business community supports and welcomes the contribution of the Ukrainian side in promoting the necessity to renew the suspension of import duties, quotas, and trade defense measures on Ukrainian exports to the EU – known as the Autonomous Trade Measures (ATMs) – for another year. This crucial achievement is reflected in the respective proposal of the European Commission and is expected to be supported by MEPs during the plenary session on May 8-11, 2023, and approved by the Council of the EU.

We would like to express our gratitude for the unprecedented day-to-day support provided by representatives of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food as well as the Ministry for Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine aimed to renew the stable and timely operation of the Black Sea Grain Initiative as well as its further possible extension.
