BDO in Ukraine has released its ESG Report for 2023. This document contains information about the company’s activities, financial position, development strategies, social and governance initiatives, relations with the stakeholders and other significant aspects of the company.
We prepared and published our first ESG report in 2014. In 2021, the BDO global network signed the NZFSPA Net-Zero-BDO, raising our ESG responsibility to a global level.
The main sections of the ESG Report from BDO in Ukraine for 2023:
- Environmental section (E): BDO in Ukraine is actively working towards achieving Net Zero goals, planning to reduce its carbon footprint to net zero level. The Report outlines ambitious plans for 2024, including greening projects near the company’s offices. The Report also provides a detailed analysis of the carbon footprint deriving from the company’s operations, and the use of cloud storage. In addition, the results of employee surveys on environmental initiatives for 2021 and 2023 are presented in this section.
- Social section (S): BDO in Ukraine implements numerous social initiatives, including pro-bono projects and charitable assistance. The Report provides information regarding the support for employees in the current circumstances in Ukraine and the measures to improve their mental health and emotional well-being. Special attention is paid to gender balance and BDO’s participation in the Ukraine Business Compact. The results of employee surveys in 2021 and 2023 are also included in this section.
- Governance section (G): BDO’s strategic leadership principles include the use of Artificial Intelligence tools to increase employee productivity, risk management in the new reality and membership in various associations and partnerships. The Report also highlights the company’s business model and sustainability goals. Comparison of the results of employee surveys for 2021 and 2023 helps to assess the effectiveness of management initiatives.

In general, the 2023 ESG Report of BDO in Ukraine demonstrates the company’s comprehensive approach to sustainable development, with a focus on environmental responsibility, social support and effective management.
What is an ESG Report?
The Report is the result of our team’s daily work. The main purpose of the Transparency Report is to provide stakeholders with clear and reliable information about the company, its strategies and results. It promotes openness and interaction with customers, investors, government agencies and other stakeholders. Such a report helps to increase trust in the company and contributes to building a sustainable and efficient business. We operate in a way that not only does not harm but also benefits the community and the environment.
An ESG report is a comprehensive document that contains information on:
- E - Environmental
Environmental issues. It includes measures to reduce the environmental impact, such as reducing the CO₂ emissions, waste management, use of renewable energy sources, protection of natural resources, etc.
- S - Social
Social aspects. It refers to the relationship between the company and its employees, customers, suppliers and communities. It includes initiatives to support employees, charitable initiatives, promoting diversity and inclusion, improved working conditions and social responsibility.
- G - Governance
Governance issues. It includes corporate governance, strategic planning, ethics, reporting transparency, risk management and compliance.
