The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine members met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, on the eve of the US Independence Day.
President Zelenskyy thanked US businesses for their work in Ukraine and with Ukraine, paying taxes, safeguarding jobs, and creating new ones during the full-scale war. He stressed that the US support must continue – for Ukraine, for security, for people. This is a common priority.
President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine Andy Hunder thanked the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and highlighted Ukraine’s resilience during the war: “Ukraine needs American business, and American business needs Ukraine. We are here because business is here. Ninety-one percent of 600 members are fully operational. 88% of AmCham members have employees who are serving in Ukraine's Armed Forces. Security is a top priority for business. The more American businesses we have in Ukraine, the more security we will have here – it's a win-win cooperation. One of the things we always ask from the U.S. Government is to provide protection for Ukrainian people and American businesses operating here, including supplying missiles for the Patriot systems.”
Since 1992, AmCham Ukraine has been serving over 600 members on the ground, delivering the shared voice of US and international companies, who invested over $50 billion in Ukraine and remain committed to the country.
War is not a barrier to investment. Members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine continue to believe in Ukraine, invest in Ukraine, and create jobs in Ukraine. “Ukraine is open for business. Ukraine remains a reliable partner for American business — a clear message to the US Administration,” said Andy Hunder.
AmCham Ukraine is grateful to President Zelenskyy for the meaningful conversation, as the transparent dialogue with international business is a key element of Ukraine’s resilience. AmCham expresses gratitude to the Office of the President and Andriy Yermak in particular for organizing the meeting, and Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy, for moderating the discussion.
The meeting was attended by representatives from Horizon Capital, Cisco Systems, Unilever, Carlsberg, Avrora Multimarket, Microsoft, KPMG, Winner Imports, Coca-Cola, CHS, Citibank, AON, CBRE, OTIS, KBR, Pfizer, Google, Baker Hughes, WTW, Wooden Horse Strategies, Parsons Corporation, Visa, AGCO, McDonald’s, Honeywell, Raytheon, MasterCard, Auterion, CRH, TechMet, Argentem Creek, Boeing, D&M Holding, IBM, Shield AI.
AmCham Ukraine looks forward to working together with the Office of the President and Ukraine’s Government to help US companies on the ground and bring more investors to Ukraine, showing opportunities and potential, particularly through the newly established United States-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund.
