WEBINAR OVERVIEW

The war in Ukraine has caused the world’s fastest growing displacement crisis since World War II, with more than 13 million people uprooted in just a hundred days. Over a quarter of Ukraine’s population have fled their homes, seeking safety, protection, and assistance elsewhere in Ukraine and in neighbouring countries, including Poland.

The Connecting Business initiative (CBi), a partnership of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and the UN Development Programme (UNDP), and UN Global Compact are convening a special workshop series for Ukrainian and Polish businesses that are supporting (or want to support) the humanitarian response to the conflict in Ukraine.

In this workshop, speakers from CBi, UN in Ukraine and OCHA will provide an overview of the critical commitments and mechanisms that guide humanitarian action. Participants will learn about humanitarian principles, the concept of Do No Harm, the frameworks for Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) and Protection Against Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA). They will get to understand how these principles and standards apply to businesses involved in supporting the humanitarian response in Ukraine and surrounding countries. The session will be conducted in English with Ukrainian and Polish translation. Advance registration is required; register at bit.ly/biz-intro-hum-system-ukraine.
