Webinar

Date: 1 November 2021

Starting from 1 January 2022, individuals who are tax residents in Ukraine (Individuals) and who are considered controllers for CFC tax legislation purposes will be required to provide information to the Ukrainian tax authorities on their foreign assets as part of their tax reporting. As a result of Ukraine's accession to Multilateral Competent Authority Agreement (MCAA) in 2023, it is also very likely that the Ukrainian tax authorities will be able to use another international tool to obtain additional information on Individuals’ foreign assets and verify the information provided.

During our event, we will discuss practical aspects of the following issues:

  • Controllers and their obligations to comply with CFC tax legislation
  • Information exchange under MCAA
  • The concept of ‘a resident’ and the conditions on a taxpayer acquiring ‘Ukrainian resident’ status
  • Change of tax residency as a mechanism to protect foreign assets
  • Overview of popular countries for changing tax residency
  • Preparation for tax residency changes in 2022: actions to be taken before 1 January 2022
