On January 1, 2021, an Agreement on Political Cooperation, Free Trade and Strategic Partnership between Ukraine and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (Agreement) came into force. The Agreement introduces a new basis for the bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and the United Kingdom, in particular, in the context of the Brexit. The document is aimed at establishment of strategic partnership relations and the main areas of cooperation. Moreover, now Ukraine is considering a possibility to revise the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (DCFTA) and Canada-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement (CUFTA) as well as to commence negotiations on conclusion of new free trade agreements, e.g. with Chile, Turkey.
