On March 13, 2023, the Chamber held an online meeting with Lisa Kaestner, Country Manager for Ukraine and Moldova, International Finance Corporation (IFC) and Olena Voloshyna, Head of IFC.
The event was devoted to the current plans of the IFC in Ukraine as well as identification and prioritization of projects aimed at Ukraine’s rebuilding.
In December 2022, the IFC announced a new $2 billion package to address the private sector financing needs during the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine and prepare for the reconstruction phase.
Besides, in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Finance of Austria, IFC will further support the Ukrainian government in developing financial structures to crowd in private capital – including by leveraging public and donor finance – and tender specific flagship projects in key sectors, including energy, transport and logistics, housing, and healthcare. IFC also will serve as a strategic advisor to the GoU in identifying and prioritizing reconstruction projects that can be implemented with private participation, developing public-private partnerships, and supporting reforms in the banking and corporate sectors.
