Dan Rice, President, American University Kyiv. Dan Rice is an experienced executive in leadership, strategic planning, fundraising, marketing, and education. He served in Iraq and Afghanistan as a U.S. Army officer and community service leader. He was awarded the Airborne Badge, Ranger Tab, and Purple Heart. In addition to his military experience, Mr. Rice has many years of leadership experience as President and Co-Founder of Thayer Leadership at West Point. He has received four literary awards as an author and is a regular contributor to CNN, FOX, and others. After the full-scale invasion began, Mr. Rice came to Ukraine as a volunteer with valuable military experience. In March 2023, Dan Rice accepted an offer from Kurt Walker, one of the co-founders of AUK, to lead American University Kyiv as the university’s president.
Oleksii Shershnov, Vice President, American University Kyiv. Oleksii has over ten years of leadership and investment experience in the healthcare and biotechnology industry of Ukraine. He established a network of clinics under the Ilaya brand, a highly innovative social project producing missing bones fragments for injured soldiers with the help of biotechnologies. In 2017, together with the partner Karlo Goginava, he headed the Ukrainian division of Wings&Freeman Capital. At the same time, Mr. Shershnov was among the initiators of the idea of creating the American University Kyiv in Ukraine. Now Mr. Shershnov is responsible for successful expansion of the university, campus development, building strong partnerships and investor opportunities around AUK.
Khrystyna Ivanchuk is a student of the Business Administration program at AUK and also leads the internship program. In addition, she is studying at the Law Degree at KNEU, obtaining two degrees. One of Khrystyna's key profiles is grant management in Ukraine. In 2023-2024, she administered over UAH 15 million in grants for public organizations.
