Nick Piazza, CEO, SP Advisors. Nick has been actively involved in Ukraine and Georgia since 2004. Before launching SP Advisors, Nick turned BG Capital/Galt & Taggart (Bank of Georgia's investment banking arm) into the leader in Ukraine and Georgia in terms of IPOs private placements from 2008-11. Nick also sat on the board of the group's Ukrainian bank, BG Bank, where he led the restructuring of the bank's corporate portfolio and the launch of its Private Wealth Management business. Before that he coordinated the sales, research, and corporate finance departments at Concorde Capital.
Oleksandr Yaremenko, Chief Legal Officer, SP Advisors. Oleksandr was directly involved in the establishment of SP Advisors. Oleksandr is now responsible for the company's operations and legal support in corporate law and M&A activities, including corporate restructuring and reorganization and setting up offshore structures. Before SP Advisors, Oleksandr spent 6 years with BG Capital. He has extensive experience setting up corporate subsidiaries in Europe and the CIS, as well as in M&A legal support. Before BG Capital, Oleksandr was deputy general director and legal counsel for Servis-Reestr and Etalon Corporation.
Kristen Mueller, Head of compliance, SP Advisors. Kristen is a U.S. Lawyer and Chief Compliance Officer to SP Advisors and its subsidiaries. Kristen sees that all procedures comply with U.S. regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act of 1970, the USA PATRIOT Act of 2001, the AMLA of 2020, the Corporate Transparency Act, and the various regulations promulgated by OFAC, FinCEN and other U.S. federal agencies. By staying abreast of the legal requirements in the U.S. as well as the guidance published by FATF and other international bodies, Kristen makes sure that both our companies and our clients are protected from potential legal liability and the reputational damage that inevitably occurs when a company is associated with individuals or entities who engage in illicit activities.
