The range of labor issues considered by the Business Ombudsman Council is extremely diverse. During the webinar, participants learned about the Council's experience in dealing with "classic" complaints in the field of labor relations. In addition, we considered labor issues in the context of tax audits, classification of companies as risky, considering data tables. Found out how the BOC can be useful for businesses in solving their issues with state bodies.

During the event we discussed:

  • rules for lodging complaints to the BOC and eligibility criteria backed up with examples
  • general analysis of the dynamics of complaints received by the BOC on labor issues
  • complaints against actions or inaction of the State Labor Service, its territorial bodies, and the Ministry of Social Policy
  • labor issues in the context of tax audits, classification of companies as risky

Speakers:

Yuliia Mykhailiuk, Investigator at the Business Ombudsman Council. Yuliia specializes in tax administration and compliance, regulatory policy, legal support of administrative disputes. She has experience working on public sector reforms, including the development of legislative initiatives and implementation thereof. Prior to joining the Business Ombudsman Council in 2017, Yuliia worked for the Tax Litigation Department at PwC as well as Corporate Department at Chadbourne and Parke LLP's Kyiv office.

Olena Chorna, Investigator at the Business Ombudsman Council. Olena has over 7 years of experience in advising multinational and local clients on various employment and corporate matters. She joined the team of Business Ombudsman Council after PwC Ukraine, where she had been working for more than 5 years. Before that, Olena was also working at outsourcing company TMF Group. She was involved in different projects related to corporate debt restructuring, setting up a business in Ukraine, and choosing the appropriate business model, including advising on complicated corporate governance structures, employment, and liquidation procedures.
