Today, Ukraine faces one of the largest problems of contaminated areas in the world. As of the beginning of October 2024, about 139 thousand square kilometers of Ukrainian land are potentially contaminated with explosive hazards. This poses serious threats to the lives of people living in the areas affected by the hostilities, as well as challenges to Ukraine's economic recovery and global food security.
The Demine Ukraine 2.0 forum will summarize the results of mine action over the past year and outline the challenges that the humanitarian demining sector faces. In particular, new technologies that can increase the safety and productivity of demining, as well as tools for raising money for humanitarian demining will be presented.
The forum is initiated by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.
The Demine Ukraine Forum will bring together about 350 participants, including representatives of the government, international organizations, humanitarian demining experts, non-governmental organizations, businesses, equipment manufacturers and innovators.
The Demine Ukraine Forum is an important platform for discussing new approaches to solving the problems of mined Ukrainian land, aimed at mobilizing international resources and supporting innovative solutions in the field of demining.
The event is organized by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and the Humanitarian Demining Center.
