Philip Morris Ukraine

PJSC Philip Morris Ukraine (hereinafter referred to as PMU) and LLC Philip Morris Sales and Distribution (hereinafter referred to as PMSD) are among the largest manufacturers and importers of tobacco products and leaders in the tobacco market of Ukraine. PMU and PMSD (hereinafter referred to as Philip Morris group of companies) are part of Philip Morris International (hereinafter referred to as PMI) – a leading international tobacco company that manufactures and sells cigarettes, smokeless products and related electronic devices and accessories, other nicotine-containing products.

PMU has been operating on the Ukrainian market since 1994 and is one of the largest taxpayers and one of the top employers.

In 2025, Philip Morris group of companies paid UAH 58.5 billion in taxes and fees to the budgets of Ukraine at all levels, UAH 32.4 billion of which were paid by PMU.

PMI remains one of the largest investors in Ukraine. The company continues to invest in production, innovation development and job creation, supporting the country’s economy even in the conditions of war time.

Since 2022, PMI has invested more than 70 million US dollars in the economy of Ukraine, and in total over the period of operation on the Ukrainian market - more than 750 million US dollars.

PMI has a modern factory in the Kharkiv region, which has been forcibly suspended since February 24, 2022 due to the full-scale Russian invasion and constant hostilities.

In 2023-2024, PMI invested 30 million US dollars in launching a new factory in the Lviv region, which was opened in May 2024. This allowed to meet domestic demand for products, create 250 new jobs.

PMI's current product portfolio mainly consists of cigarettes and smokeless products. Since 2008, PMI has invested over 14 billion US dollars in the development, research and commercialization of innovative smokeless products for adult smokers who would otherwise continue to smoke. In 2016, Ukraine became the seventh market where PMI launched its IQOS product – a device that does not ignite tobacco, but heats it, without burning, smoke or ash. Since 2025, PMI has launched ZYN nicotine pouches in Ukraine.
