Expert Petroleum (XP) is an international upstream oil and gas operating company with a strong track-record in production enhancement and operations decarbonization, managing 28 mature oil and gas fields (600+ producing wells) in Romania and Ukraine in partnership with OMV Petrom and Naftogaz/Ukrgasvydobuvannia under production enhancement contracts (PEC). XP invests in mature fields’ development, using fit-for-purpose technologies to boost their production and reserves, increase operational efficiency, and reduce environmental footprint - decreasing the fields’ fresh water withdrawal, methane emissions, energy intensity - in order to make them more sustainable.

The company was founded in 2005 by two Schlumberger managers, Michel Louboutin and David Martinon. XP has 1,000+ employees worldwide and operates 11,000 barrels production of oil equivalent per day.

XP is a signatory of the worldwide Aiming for Zero Methane Emissions Initiative, aiming to achieve near zero methane emissions from operated oil and gas assets by 2030.
