More Than 7,800 People Affected by Shelling Receive Emergency Cash Assistance from the Ukrainian Red Cross

From January through June 2026, the Ukrainian Red Cross provided emergency cash assistance to more than 7,800 people in frontline regions of Ukraine whose homes were damaged or destroyed by Russian shelling.

Each recipient received UAH 12,300. The program operates in nine regions: Kharkiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Chernihiv, Sumy, Mykolaiv, and Odesa.

The cash assistance enables families affected by shelling to quickly and independently address their most urgent needs — from purchasing clothing and medicines and covering temporary accommodation costs to carrying out essential repairs and meeting other immediate expenses.

The payments are made possible through partnerships with the U.S. Government, the Norwegian Red Cross, the Danish Red Cross, and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).

The Ukrainian Red Cross is always open to partnerships with businesses to strengthen humanitarian response efforts and support civilians in the most vulnerable regions of Ukraine.
