The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has launched TrophyLab, a new platform enabling eligible Ukrainian and foreign defense-sector entities to study captured military equipment through access to technical information, research materials and physical samples.
1. Who Can Apply
- Ukrainian state authorities, military bodies and units, and their subordinate entities.
- Ukrainian defense companies – both defense suppliers and critical enterprises.
- Partner state national authorities, including defense agencies and their subordinate entities.
- Foreign defense companies established in partner states.
2. Application Process
Submission: a multi-step electronic questionnaire completed at the TrophyLab platform.
Processing times: typically up to 10 business days, subject to possible delays where additional information or verifications are requested.
3. Platform Functionality
Research Database: access to data and research materials on captured military equipment available on the platform.
- Coverage: 79 categories and subcategories of captured military equipment.
- Available information: photographs, technical specifications, research summaries and materials.
Sample Requests: requests to inspect and analyze specific captured equipment samples.
- Submission: via the platform, along with details of the requested samples and proposed research.
- Research formats: temporary transfer with return, or destructive research.
- Review and approval: initial review by the platform administrator, followed by approval from the sample holder.
- Research results: submitted within 10 business days after completion of the research or return of the respective samples; published on the platform only with the applicant’s consent.
- Non-compliance: failure to submit the research results may lead to restricted access to the platform.
4. Expected Impact
For eligible users: access to data and samples of captured weapons, enabling the study of enemy technologies and the application of findings towards the development and improvement of applicants’ own product portfolios.
For Ukraine: the faster development of effective countermeasures and battlefield-ready defense solutions at a time when they are critically needed.
