AmCham Ukraine Vice President Tetyana Prokopchuk took part at the high-level round table organized by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development

The Future of Ukraine’s Agrifood Sector on the Path to the EU – AmCham Ukraine Vice President Tetyana Prokopchuk took part at the high-level round table organized by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The event brought together top representatives of the governmental, international community and business for a focused discussion on Ukraine’s food and agribusiness transition to the European Union.

AmCham Ukraine highlighted the necessity to:

  • support initiatives aimed at ensuring availability of safe and sustainable routes for food and feed shipments via the Black Sea, the Danube, and the Solidarity Lanes;
  • provide affordable insurance solutions for assets and commercial transactions (war-risk insurance);
  • ensure access for affordable credit resources for farmers and market operators to support infrastructure recovery and rebuilding;
  • continue the demining of Ukrainian agricultural lands;
  • support professional rehabilitation and development of human capital in rural areas, etc.

Also, it’s vital to cancel export duties on oilseeds (soybeans and rapeseed) that hamper investment, undermine rule of law, and cost farmers through lower prices and reduced planting.
Business community is grateful to the EBRD leadership and team for continued support of Ukraine on its reform path and focused discussion.
