AVELLUM Advises EBRD on Strategic Financing for Ukraine’s Leading Express Delivery Company

AVELLUM acted as the Ukrainian legal counsel to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (“EBRD”) in connection with a new senior EUR70 million loan to “New Post” Limited Liability Company (“Borrower”), the principal operating subsidiary of NOVA group. This financing marks a critical step in supporting the resilience and expansion of Ukraine’s top express delivery service amidst ongoing war challenges.

The Borrower will use the loan proceeds to finance its long-term growth strategy, which includes expanding and upgrading its extensive network of parcel lockers and branches, acquiring new equipment, and implementing safety measures to protect employees and customers from the ongoing threats of shelling, bombings, and missile attacks during the war. Additionally, the project is designed to enhance the Borrower’s capacity to support veterans’ reintegration and address talent management issues in the Ukrainian labour market.

Through its various subsidiaries, NOVA group offers a comprehensive suite of logistics, financial and related services to private clients and businesses across Ukraine and internationally. As Ukraine’s leading express delivery company, the Borrower operates a vast network of over 30,000 service points, serving more than 11 million customers every month.

EBRD continues to be the most significant international financial investor in Ukraine, having deployed EUR4,5 billion in the country since the beginning of the Russian invasion in 2022. EBRD has also secured a EUR4 billion capital increase to support Ukraine’s ongoing recovery efforts further.

AVELLUM team working on the project was led by senior partner Glib Bondar, with significant support from managing associate Mariana Veremchuk and junior associates Nikita Tipikin-Holovko and Olha Harhola.
