During the event, participants had an opportunity to find out more about our recently joined member Global Foresight Strategies (GFS) and the strategic planning and foresight program they are developing for Ukraine and the CEE region. The company is led by a team of multi-disciplinary and deeply experienced international security professionals who have developed and implemented successful strategic planning and foresight analyses for foreign policy, defense, development, intelligence, and law enforcement agencies. Unlike other strategic foresight or futures consultancies, GFS makes clients an integral part of the discovery process as they work together with world-class experts to identify emerging risks and opportunities. Their Ukraine/CEE program will holistically (military and non-military elements of power) examine how the war against Russia is being fought, and will identify what government and private sector partners could be doing to increase their coordinated, comprehensive and collective strengths to counter Russian aggression in the near-term (6-12 months) and then over the next 3-5 years. This program will be very valuable for private sector clients and will feed the discussion at May’s “Strategic Ark” conference in Warsaw hosted by the Polish Institute for International Affairs.
The event consisted of two parts – a presentation from GFS CEO Patti Morrissey, who described their unique, decision-relevant foresight, and a Q&A session to discuss potential cooperation.

Patti Morrissey, CEO & Founder, Global Foresight Strategies. Patti founded Global Foresight Strategies with former colleagues in the fall of 2022 as a boutique consultancy to provide deep expertise and institutional knowledge in strategic foresight analysis to government and private sector clients. Patti has 36 years of experience in government, national and international security policy and strategy, working for the U.S. Congress, Department of Defense, the Department of State, and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.
