Intellias has received a silver award in the prestigious Forbes HR & Employer Branding Awards in the “Working Environment” category for the company’s initiative called IntelliWomen: Breaking Barriers, Empowering Women in the company’s office in Sofia, Bulgaria. IntelliWomen is a women’s community at Intellias that enhances the growth environment and encourages professional opportunities at Intellias and in the IT industry in general. The company’s initiative received some of the highest points from leading Bulgarian HR experts and Forbes representatives.
An independent jury of Bulgaria’s Forbes HR & Employer Branding Awards chose the best among 100 projects of companies that follow a consistent and sustainable talent development policy.
Having equality, diversity, and inclusivity (EDI) as one of its key values, Intellias fights gender stereotypes in the professional environment. In spring 2021, the company signed the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles and started implementing them. Since that time, the percentage of women in the company has grown from 26% to 27.6% in 2023. Currently, women occupy 43.81% of management positions, compared to 35.16% in 2021.
Following the WEPs, Intellias created an IntelliWomen Community that unites about 450 Intellias women. The community is a place of interaction and mutual support as well as an environment for personal and professional growth. Participants organize meetings and webinars, become mentors at external events, and support charity initiatives.
High appraisal of the most well-known HR professionals of Bulgaria is an important achievement for Intellias and a result of implementation of equality, diversity and inclusion principles in our organization. Intellias is dedicated to reflecting the diversity of our communities, providing equal opportunities, and fostering inclusion at all levels. And gender equality is especially important for us. We want to see a greater gender balance in IT and thus we empower more women to opt for career in tech and support their professional growth”, says Chudomir Dimitrov, Head of Talent Delivery in Bulgaria.
The company has developed a number of policies, including an Equal Opportunities Policy, Violence Prevention Policy, Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy, and Diversity Hiring Policy. The Intellias Code of Corporate Ethics and Ethics Committee guarantee adherence to principles of equality and implementation of the company’s policies. Intellias has also signed the Declaration for gender equality and against domestic violence by UNFPA Ukraine.
Additionally, Intellias follows a policy of responsible parenthood, supporting specialists who plan to have or already have children. The company makes sure that parents have a chance to adjust their working processes according to their needs, which includes managing their working hours or choosing the most comfortable working format – at home, in the office, or both.
In 2023, Intellias was named among the best employers in Bulgaria according to Career Show Index. In 2022, Intellias won the Bulgarian Career Show Award in five categories.
