During the first panel, moderated by Tetiana Kyryk, Co-Chair of the Chamber Compliance Club, Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer, Kyivstar (Veon Group), Oleksandr Komarov, Chamber’s Board of Directors Member, CEO, Kyivstar (Veon Group) together with Alison Howell, Ethics & Compliance Officer – Risk, Veon Group and Julia Kahlenberg, Partner, Pohlmann & Company (team member of former Veon Monitor team) shared experiences on successful completion of 3 years Independent Compliance Monitorship of VEON Group and Kyivstar and certification of their ethics an compliance program by Independent Monitor.

The second panel, moderated by Pavlo Bespalov, Co-Chair of the Chamber Compliance Club, Counsel, Philip Morris Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia and Moldova and Ario Dehghani, Co-Chair of the Chamber Compliance Club, Counsel, Sayenko Kharenko, was devoted to the results’ analysis of the Chamber Survey on Application of 11 Elements of Effective Compliance Program. Joseph Murphy, Director of Public Policy, Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics joined the discussion and provided highly qualified comments.

As a follow-up, we would like to share with you the presentation delivered by the moderators and link to Joseph’s mini-book “A Compliance & Ethics Program on a Dollar a Day: How Small Companies Can Have Effective Programs.”

The third panel, moderated by Pavlo Bespalov and Ario Dehghani, was all about discussing new Law on Whistleblowers in Ukraine. Ihor Svitlyk, Head of the Chamber Anti-Corruption Working Group, Senior Associate, Dentons, Artem Krykun-Trush, Associate, DLA Piper, Ruslan Melnyk, Head of the Department on Corruption Prevention, National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and Serhii Derkach, Head of the Department on Prevention and Detection of Corruption, National Agency on Corruption Prevention together with Olena Karpova, Chief Specialist of the Department on Prevention and Detection of Corruption, National Agency on Corruption Prevention covered different aspects of whistleblowers’ activity in Ukraine and abroad.
