The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine welcomes publishing of the Draft CMU Resolution on some issues on Managed Entry Agreements for public discussion.
Managed Entry Agreements (MEA) are the formal arrangements between payers and manufacturers to share the risks due to the uncertainty of introducing new health technologies to enable access to new medicines. In other words, MEA allows market access to the medicinal product by sharing the cost of uncertainty between the payer and the producer.
Developing the Draft Resolution is a crucial step to establish the current instrument on the Ukrainian market and implement the state procurement of innovative medicines and other medical technologies.
Application of MEA will scale up access to effective medical services, such as treatment for patients with original innovative medicines, and help the state to use the budget more efficiently.
For these purposes, the Chamber Healthcare Committee held the educational events with international speakers, experts in implementing the healthcare system transformation from different countries, for industry and payers to gain the knowledge about the ways of transparent cooperation and finding the mutual balance in providing the most effective treatment for Ukrainian patients.
The Chamber Healthcare Committee experts actively support and advocate for these changes, and focus their efforts and leadership on improvement of Ukraine's MEA regulation.
