Participants of the meeting discussed the following issues:
1. Upcoming Annual Election of the Chamber Seeds Committee Co-Chairs
2. New requirements on the use of chlorpyrifos-ethyl and chlorpyrifos-methyl pesticides in the European Union
3. Draft Law “On Plant Protection”;
4. Progress on implementation of Committee’s priorities regarding:
- Recognition of equivalence of the seed certification system between Ukraine & EU;
- Amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On Seeds and Planting Material”;
- Draft Law #2289 amending Article 4 of the Law “On Pesticides and Agrochemicals” regarding import of new pesticide samples into the customs territory of Ukraine for state testing and research;
- Draft amendments to Order #914 on application of SI units labelling system;
- Cancellation of quarantine certificates for imported seeds.
5. Issues with registration of plant variety rights;
6. Potential project on fight against counterfeit of crop protection products and seeds by strengthening of intellectual property rights.
