On 19 April, numerous amendments to the customs legislation will come into effect with one of the recent legislative developments being the introduction of the institution of “customs representation” aligned with the EU. From now on, customs intermediation will be separated into direct and indirect representations, which will impact the scope of the powers and the areas of the responsibility in declaring goods.
Such particularities should be specified in appropriate agreements on customs brokerage services and, therefore, special attention is given to early preparation for changes to avoid any disputes with customs authorities as part of the customs clearance procedure.
