Imperial Tobacco

According to DTEK statistics, before the start of the full-scale invasion, Imperial Tobacco ranked 10th among the industries that consumed the largest amount of electricity in Kyiv and the Kyiv region. Today, the company operates five diesel generators and expects a sixth by the end of 2022, reaching a capacity of 2 MW. Together with the implementation of the Starlink satellite internet platform, at the beginning of 2023rd, the business plans to be completely independent of external supply and will be able to provide communication, heating, and light to all 53,893.4 square meters of production and office premises.

Since the invasion Imperial Tobacco has developed several measures to support its employees in case of a total blackout. In addition to providing financial assistance to employees to buy equipment to help heat and power their homes, Imperial Tobacco allows employees and their families to stay on the company premises temporarily. Several departments were converted to accommodate 300 beds with mattresses, a special area for employees' children, a canteen providing three meals a day and an area to accommodate employees' pets.

Being one of the largest taxpayers, Imperial Tobacco continues to support the country's economy, paying over 12 billion hryvnias to the budget over the last 11 months of 2022. In addition to implementing its production plans, Imperial Tobacco has also started production of several brands of Philip Morris Ukraine cigarettes at its factory in Kyiv since August. Because of the war in Ukraine, PMI was unable to restore its factory in Kharkiv and, thanks to assistance from Imperial Tobacco, has found an alternative route for the efficient supply of products of its brands to the market, accordingly providing the state with taxes.

Alongside this, the company continues to support the army. The Imperial Tobacco team regularly collects "Packages of gratitude to the front", with employees uniting across Ukraine to collect money and buy warm clothes, food, and medicine for 41 mobilized colleagues who heroically defend the country in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In addition, during the full-scale invasion, Imperial Tobacco has also assisted the Armed Forces in the amount of more than 42 million hryvnias, including helping soldiers with neurorehabilitation after complex spinal and brain injuries. In partnership with the charitable foundation "KRAN", the company participated in the purchase of G-EO System Evolution robotic equipment to restore the ability to walk and has financed months of neurorehabilitation for 20 soldiers.
