The Ukrainian holding Planeta RS was founded in 1998 in Kherson, it includes a group of companies for the production of ready-mixed concrete, infrastructure concrete products, the production and installation of industrial buildings, as well as the production of self-leveling industrial floors. The holding consists of enterprises:
- Planeta RS Kherson
- Planeta RS Concrete
- Planeta RS Tiles
- Orange Pavers, PA, USA
- Planet RS Borodyanka
The holding operates in the South of Ukraine with production bases and an office in the city of Kherson, as well as in the center of Ukraine with a production base in the Kyiv region in the city of Borodianka and an office in Kyiv. The total number of employees is about 250 people
In the first days of the war, all enterprises of the Holding in Ukraine were occupied. Russian troops took over all production sites and looted most of the equipment in both Kyiv and Kherson. It was decided to evacuate the personnel. Most of the employees from the city of Borodyanka were evacuated to Kyiv, as well as to Western Ukraine. Employees of Kherson enterprises were partially evacuated to Western Ukraine and partially to Georgia in the city of Tbilisi, so personnel was moved to help build the Orange Pavers USA plant.
Kherson factories were further seriously damaged after the liberation at the beginning of December. Several Grad rockets hit our sites.
Right after the war started, construction started in the state of Pennsylvania, USA under the strategic supervision of board members Roman Romanov and Yevgen Chernetskyy. More than 80 people both in Ukraine and in the US are currently involved in the organization of the new plant of the Holding, under the Orange Pavers brand. In Pennsylvania, a serial plant running a similar production line to the Borodianka plant has been planned for 2021. The engineers and technical specialists of the Holding fully adapted Ukrainian technologies to the US plant.
We felt solid support and assistance during such a transformation and relocation of our business to the US from Amcham and USUBC, as well as the US Embassy in Ukraine, the Ukrainian Embassy in the US, the Government of Pennsylvania, EDC, and the Commerce department.
The activity of the enterprise in the Kyiv region was completely restored, and new equipment was purchased.
The main task today is the preservation of jobs of all Ukrainian specialists. The possibility to temporarily allocate personnel to the development of the Holding in the United States not only helps achieve that but also has the benefit of deepening technological expertise and other competencies that will be further used to reconstruct Ukraine.
