This online event presented the Alliance for Gender-Responsive and Inclusive Recovery, which includes the private business willing enhance economic opportunities for women through joining the Women Empowerment Principles (WEPs). It also explored how companies can adopt the WEPs to strengthen their operations, supply chains, and community engagement, especially in the challenging context of full-scale war and recovery.
The war has significantly impacted women in Ukraine, creating unprecedented challenges around security, employment, and economic participation. In response, the Alliance for Gender-Responsive and Inclusive Recovery was established at the 2024 Ukraine Recovery Conference in Berlin on the initiative of the Government of Ukraine and the Government of Germany with the support of UN Women. The Alliance brings together ideas and initiatives of diverse stakeholders. Among the more than 60 members are governments, international organizations and international financial institutions, businesses, and civil society organizations. Joining the WEPs is the precondition for the private sector to join the Alliance. This event is organized within support to the Alliance to share information about opportunities of the WEPs to improve companies' internal policies and to advance gender equality and women’s empowerment in the workplace, marketplace, and community for gender-responsive and inclusive recovery of Ukraine.
During the webinar, we discussed:
