Lifecell

Since the first day of the war, lifecell has been doing everything possible to keep Ukrainian people connected. Therefore, from the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, each employer did everything to ensure the company could provide services to subscribers both in Ukraine and abroad as many people were forced to leave their homes to flee from war.

To keep subscribers connected, lifecell initiated the launch of national roaming in Ukraine, which was started jointly by all operators in March. This is a service that allows subscribers to connect to available networks of other operators in the case when it is not possible to use the signal of their mobile operator. With the help of national roaming, we serve nearly 300 thousand other operators' subscribers daily.

Since the beginning of the war, the enemy has been destroying the operator's infrastructure. 90 lifecell brave repair teams make 2-3 visits all over the country on daily basis. Often this happens under shelling and at great risk of being hit by missile attacks.

On liberated territories where the network was critically damaged, our engineers connected the base stations to the Starlink systems. It allowed lifecell to restore the network in the regions where the transport network was physically destroyed. Another technical solution was the installation of powerful VEGA (Comarcom) antennas which provided coverage within a radius of up to 35 kilometers.

For people who have been under occupation for a long time, lifecell provides 10 GB of the Internet and 500 minutes of calls to all numbers. Supporting Ukrainians abroad, lifecell provided its subscribers with an opportunity to use the tariff gigabytes included in the service package in more than 30 countries of the world without additional fees.

The company has not been only restoring the infrastructure that was destroyed by the war but also building new base stations. Particular emphasis was placed on the expansion of the network in the central and western regions of Ukraine, where many people from the east and south of the country migrated due to the armed aggression of the Russian Federation. Since the beginning of the year, lifecell has built more than 500 new base stations to keep Ukrainians connected. Thanks to the construction of new base stations and modernization of existing ones in 2022, 4G communication and mobile Internet from lifecell have been improved for almost 2.5 thousand settlements with more than 2.5 million Ukrainians.

Appreciating the contribution of the military, law enforcement, medical, and critical infrastructure workers who work during the war, lifecell provided them with the opportunity to get 10 thousand GB of mobile Internet, 10 thousand minutes for calls to any number in Ukraine, and 10 thousand SMS. Since the beginning of the war, more than half a million such packages have been accrued. Also, lifecell transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine telecommunication equipment worth UAH 37 million.

In September, lifecell signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Transformation. Under this Memorandum, lifecell pledged to transfer UAH 40 million for the digital development and restoration of Ukraine's telecom infrastructure.

The enemy's terrorist attacks on the energy infrastructure have posed new challenges for the company - to ensure longer operation of base stations without power supply. lifecell is constantly trying to increase the number of batteries at technological sites and install generators, promptly delivering fuel for their uninterrupted operation, so that people can get in touch under any circumstances. To be more autonomous in powering the equipment, lifecell started testing the solar power supply in autumn. After all, the stable operation of the mobile network is a priority for the company.

lifecell team feels responsible for keeping people connected under all circumstances and we continue fighting on the mobile front to bring our victory closer together.
