Labor law is in place to provide rules and procedures which make life of employer and employee easier. Companies operating in Ukraine may face many complex labor law challenges that require a hands-on business perspective combined with a thorough knowledge of Ukrainian labor regulations. With market and economic shifts, new technology, globalization and global mobility, demand for more flexible workforces, and ever-increasing scrutiny of compliance and ethics, the labor challenges for both the employers and employees are greater than ever. Participants had an opportunuty to cover the following issues:

  • The main points that are forgotten when hiring and processing labor documentation
  • The Law of Ukraine "On Limited Liability and Additional Liability Companies": labor aspects. What to look for and what to be prepared for?
  • New rules for conducting inspections by the State Labor Service of Ukraine. What should you know to be ready? Practical aspects

 

Speakers:

Margarita Karpenko, Managing Partner, DLA Piper. Margarita heads the Employment & Benefits Practice at the Kyiv office of DLA Piper. Margarita focuses on all areas or employment law, including hire and dismissal, stock option and other incentive plans, employment of foreigners, transfer of employees, compliance with regulatory requirements. She is experienced in handling complex employment-related matters, including multi-jurisdictional employment related projects.

Anastasiya Bolkhovitinova, Ph.D., Legal Director, DLA Piper. Anastasiya advises international and cross-border clients on a broad range of employment matters. Her vast experience includes advising on employment and independent contractor agreements, dealing with employees claims, sensitive terminations, employee benefits and executive compensations, global policies and procedures. Anastasiya also counsels global employers on the issues associated with transactions, including cross-border mergers and acquisitions, post-acquisition integrations and restructurings.

Olena Martsynovska, Associate, DLA Piper. Olena covers all areas of employment law, including hire and dismissal, stock option and other incentive plans, employment of foreigners, compliance with regulatory requirements. She also has solid experience in sensitive terminations. Sector focus includes pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, agriculture, telecommunications, IT. Olena just finished her secondment project with DLA US office focusing on employment matters.

Volodymyr Goncharuk, Department of State Supervision of Compliance of labor legislation - State Labor Service of Ukraine. Volodymyr has nearly 10 years of experience in conducting inspections (State Labor Service of Ukraine).
